Welcome to Sammy. This Privacy Policy explains how I collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use my iOS mobile application ("Sammy" or the "App"). This policy applies to all users of the Sammy app worldwide. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Important: Sammy is designed for users aged 17 and older. If you are under 17 years of age, you are not permitted to use this App.

2. Information I Collect

Sammy is designed with privacy in mind. I collect minimal data necessary to provide my services:

Information I DO Collect

  • FCM Token: A unique token generated by Firebase Cloud Messaging
  • Anonymous User Token: An 8-character randomly generated string
  • Notification Preferences: Your selected notification settings

Information I DO NOT Collect

I do not collect:

  • Personal information (name, email address, phone number)
  • Account credentials or login information
  • Location data
  • Photos, camera data, or media files
  • Browsing history or usage analytics
  • Advertising identifiers
  • Financial or payment information
  • Health data
  • Contacts or address book information

3. How I Use Your Information

The limited information I collect is used solely for the following purposes:

  • Push Notifications: To deliver push notifications to your device
  • Anonymous User Token: To count installs and support deleting your data (not linked to personal identity)
  • Preference Management: Stored as a status value, purely for internal metrics

I do not:

  • Sell your information to third parties
  • Use your information for advertising purposes
  • Create user profiles for marketing
  • Track your behavior across apps or websites

4. Data Storage & Security

Storage Location

Your data is stored on secure servers operated by my third-party service providers (see Section 5). Data may be stored in data centers located in various regions to ensure reliable service delivery.

Security Measures

I implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:

  • Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Secure cloud infrastructure with industry-standard protections
  • Access controls limiting who can view stored data
  • Regular security assessments of my service providers

While I strive to protect your information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. I cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Third-Party Services

Sammy uses the following third-party services to operate:

Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google)

Supabase

  • Purpose: Database backend for storing tokens and preferences
  • Data Shared: Anonymous user token, FCM token, notification preferences

Cloudflare

  • Purpose: Content delivery network, API services, and content storage
  • Data Shared: Standard request data (IP address, device type) for content delivery

6. Data Retention

I retain your information only as long as necessary to provide my services:

  • FCM Token: Retained until you delete your data from App settings, or the token is refreshed by the system
  • Anonymous User Token: Retained until you delete your data from App settings
  • Notification Preferences: Retained until you delete your data from App settings

Uninstalling the App without clearing data will leave your tokens and notification preference stale until you reinstall, at which point they refresh automatically.

7. Your Privacy Rights

Regardless of jurisdiction, you have the right to:

  • Deletion: Delete your own data from App settings
  • Opt-out: Disable push notifications at any time through your device settings or within the App

8. Children's Privacy

Sammy is intended for users aged 17 and older. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 17.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided me with information, please open the App, Settings → Clear Data.

I do not knowingly collect information from users under 17. Because I don't collect identifying information, I will be unable to locate or delete data tied to a specific minor unless it is deleted in-app on the same device.

9. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country.

When I transfer data internationally, I ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including:

  • Using service providers that comply with applicable data protection frameworks
  • Implementing standard contractual clauses where required
  • Ensuring adequate levels of data protection as required by applicable law

By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries outside your country of residence.

10. Changes to This Policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When I make changes:

  • I will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
  • For significant changes, I may provide additional notice (such as an in-app notification)
  • Your continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy
